Nämdöskärgården National Park

National Park facts

Sweden’s first marine national park in the Baltic Sea offers a rich and varied natural experience – both on land and below the surface.

Nämdöskärgården National Park is Sweden’s first marine national park in the Baltic Sea. You’ll find it in Värmdö Municipality, in Stockholm County. The park covers an area of 25 300 hectares – and 97% of that is sea.

When the park was established in 2025, there were already two nature reserves in the area: Bullerö and Långviksskär. A small part of Långviksskär remains a nature reserve, now surrounded by the national park.

The nature here is wonderfully diverse. The sea area varies in depth, wave exposure and seabed types. On land, the park includes around a thousand islands, islets and skerries.

The main entrance to the park is located on the island Bullerö.
