About Åsnen National Park

In Åsnen National Park you get a sense of wilderness, experiences of ancient beech forest, an inland archipelago with hundreds of large islands and small skerries, and the chance to enjoy rich plant and animal life.

The forest in Bjurkärr, at the Sunnabron entrance, is very old and known for its great species richness, including lichens, fungi and wood‑living insects.

The mythical Trollberget on the western side of Åsnen offers an exciting forest walk, especially for younger visitors.

Around 75 percent of Åsnen National Park consists of water.
