Eating in the park

Here you’ll find information about different options for eating in Björnlandet National Park.

There are no cafés, restaurants or places to buy food inside the national park. Restaurants and grocery shops are available in villages, such as Fredrika (34 km from the park) and Åsele (57 km from the park).

If you bring your own food, you can enjoy it at one of the rest areas shown on the park map. There are also fire pits at the park entrances, near the cabin, at the viewpoint on Björnberget along the Svärmors Trail and Guldbäcks Trail, and at Råtjärnen along the Björnlandet Loop Trail. These places are suitable for grilling or heating your food.

There are different rules for lighting fires in the various zones of the national park:

  • Zone 1 – Entrance Zone: In the areas around the entrances, you may only light a fire in designated fireplaces, using your own firewood or the wood provided.
  • Zone 2 – Activity Zone: In this zone, you may light a fire using your own firewood or the wood provided.
  • Zone 3 – Low Activity Zone: Lighting a fire is allowed using your own firewood.
