Rules for visitors

When you visit a national park, you are responsible for following the rules in force. 

The right of public access is more limited in national parks in order to give nature greater protection. This affects what you are allowed to do in national parks.

Rules in Björnlandet National Park

It is forbidden to:

1. Dig, hoe.
2. Cause damage to, carve in or paint rocks, ground, boulders and stones.
3. Remove stones.
4. Break off twigs or fell or damage living or dead trees and bushes.
5. Cause injury to or disturb the fauna, climb trees where birds are nesting or remain close to a den, earth or predatory bird's nest.
6. Drive or park electric or motor vehicles outside indicated roads and car parks.
7. Operate a motor-boat, water scooter or other motor-driven watercraft.
8. Launch or land aircraft, drones or similar. This prohibition applies to both manned and unmanned aircraft.
9. Erect a tent, windbreak or similar device
a) inside zone 1 on the map,
b) within 100 metres of a trail, destination point, vantage point, rest area or cabin inside zone 2 on the map. This prohibition does not apply at indicated places.
10. Light a fire
a) inside zone 1 on the map,
b) within 100 metres of a trail, destination point, vantage point, rest area or cabin inside zone 2 on the map. This prohibition does not apply at indicated places. It is only permitted to light a fire using fire wood provided or that you have brought with you.
11. Bring dogs or other pets not on a lead.
12. Cause noise in a way that disturbs others. 
13. Conduct military or police exercises. 
14. Fish.

Without permission from the County Administrative Board, it is forbidden to:

1. Hold sports competitions or other sports events. 
2. Place signs, orienteering checkpoints, marker strips, markers or similar.
3. Collect amphibians or reptiles.
4. Collect insects, spiders, molluscs, snails or other invertebrates.
5. Pick, gather or dig up plants, including lichens and wood-living fungi.

Special regulations apply in the case of reindeer husbandry and such hunting as is permitted in this national park.
