Lilla Lövö runt

The Lilla Lövö roundtour hike shows both the untouched raised bog and the traces of the extensive peat extraction that once took place in the area.

The hike starts at the footbridge over the railway at Kittlakull. The first stage goes through the old peat extraction area, then you cross the large ditch and come out onto the real untouched raised bog. The difference is noticeable right away, here the feeling of wilderness prevails. There the path is predominantly on boardwalk which can become slippery in wet weather.

On Lilla Lövö, which consists of rocks and solid ground, storms have felled much of the spruce forest and there is now a large collection of dead trees. Lots of bracken fungi, lichens and insects thrive and birdlife flourishes because of all the food. After Lilla Lövö the trail comes up onto the old sand dunes (rocknar) and there is the option of hiking south towards Lövö or back towards Kittlakull.
