Svartgölsleden
Svartgölsleden (the black pond hike) is the shortest trail leading out to the raised bog.
The trail goes to Svartgölen, one of the raised bog's small ponds, and then the same way back. It starts from the Östra Rockne parking lot at road 151. At first the trail follows the pine-covered sand dunes (rocknar). The surface of the trail is hard-packed gravel, and the trail is so wide that both wheelchairs and strollers can make it the entire way. The trail is somewhat hilly and has a slight slope at the beginning; visitors in wheelchairs may need help to get up the slopes. The forest is open and a lot of bilberry bushes grow next to the trail and there are benches along the trail in several places.
The last part (500 meters) of the hiking trail is out on the magnificent, raised bog, where you’ll walk on 1,20-meter-wide boardwalk to a platform next to Svartgölen. It has a wilderness feel with cranes trumpeting, greenshanks making warning calls and birds of prey hunting. There are tables and benches next to the water and it is great to take a dip in the pond after your coffee if you wish. Svartgölen is 4.5 meters deep and is deep right from the edge.
