The tower is located about 150 meters from the large parking lot at the main entrance to the national park. The first floor of the bird tower is wheelchair accessible and there is a lift to the second floor. The upper floors can only be reached by stairs.

The tower houses an exhibition about lake Kävsjön and its wildlife and management. There is also a crank sound player that plays various bird calls.
