Visit the park
Here you’ll find directions, information about local services, and other useful details to help you prepare for your visit to Tyresta National Park.
Tyresta National Park is located only twenty kilometres from Stockholm city centre. You can reach the national park by car or by public transport.
The main entrance to the national park is in Tyresta by. This is also where you find the visitor centre, Naturum Nationalparkernas hus.
Accessibility
The main entrance to the national park and the visitor sites in Tyresta by are adapted for accessibility. Naturum, Tyresta gård, the café and the nearby fire pits are accessible for wheelchairs, and there are accessible toilets and parking at all the buildings.
The entrance to the national park consists of a cast concrete path that runs across a meadow towards the forest edge where the forest begins. A wooden boardwalk then continues to a small gathering point next to Bylsjöbäcken.
There are trails and rest areas in the national park that can be reached by wheelchair.
In the northern part of the nature reserve, there are several forest roads. Along this network of roads you can reach Långsjön, Stensjön and Lanan on easy‑walking paths. Roads in the national park are not ploughed or sanded in winter. Cars are not permitted.
