Short guided tours on Wednesdays

Welcome on guided tours in various subjects the summer 2024. Starts at 13.00 on Wednesdays in July and August.

About the activity

During the summer you can join us on guided tours, every week we have different themes. The guided tour starts at 13.00 and lasts for about 1 hour. The tours are free with any small cost of materials. Collection at naturum unless otherwise stated.

26 JUNE, CORING THE BOG

Which plants and animals lived on the bog a thousand years ago? We dig up peat samples and look at which species might hide in there. Start at the parking lot at kittlakull.

For both children and adults.

3 JULY, FROM PEAT INDUSTRY TO RESTORATION

Why would you dig away a bog, and when it's done how do you get it back? We will walk 2 km from naturum to Kittlakull to find the answers.

 

10 JULY, THE FLORA ALONG THE PATH

Come along on a hike and hear about the plants we find along the trail.

 

17 JULY, THE BATS OF SWEDEN

How do the bats of Sweden live in our cold climate? Come to naturum and listen to find out.

 

24 JULY, DRAGONFLIES

We will catch dragonflies and look at them. Of course you will also hear some facts about them. Rubberboots are recomended.

 

31 JULY, THE MIRES PLANTS FOR FOOD AND BENEFITS

Which plants on the Mire can you eat? What else can they be used for? Come along on a walk and hear about the flora on the mire!

 

7, AUGUST, PLANTS ON THE FENN AND THE BOG

Come along on a walk through the fenn and the bog to see the difference between the two nature types. You will also see and hear of some typical species along the way.

 

14, AUGUST, PRESCRIPTION FIRE

Why do we deliberately start a fire to burn the forest? Come and listen to find out!

 

21, AUGUST, BLOODSUCKERS, THE SUMMER PLAUGE

We all know mosquitoes, horseflies and ticks as a plauge who come for our blood, But what do we really know about them? Are they good for something?

 

28, AUGUST, BUILD A BEE HOTELL

Give the pollinators a home, build a bee hotell!
